Promote your business with marketing postcards

    April 20th, 2011

Full-colour, high-quality postcards are an inexpensive and effective way to market your small business.  One of the first steps to creating a successful marketing postcard is to set a goal.  What do you want to achieve by sending this postcard? Do you want to promote new products? Do you want customers to visit your business at its new location? Once you have a goal in mind, create a message that is direct and simple.  You want your readers to know exactly what to do after receiving your postcard.

Also, be sure to focus your marketing efforts on mailing lists that will pay off.  When targeting consumers, consider where they live, what they do for work, what they do for fun, and whether or not they have children.

Advertise your day care business by mailing to families with school-age children.  Market your landscaping business by mailing to upscale neighborhoods with large homes and yards.

Also, create postcards for inactive customers.  Let them know how excited you are to be of service to them.  Try designing oversized marketing postcards for  special events or to include more information for your customers.

Design a business card for your landscaping business

    April 13th, 2011

As a small business owner, you know that money doesn’t grow on trees. You must take advantage of every opportunity to promote your landscaping company. Of course, creating a quality business card is a simple step that will help to grow your business.
Design a business card that suits your personality and your business. Whether you employ a small army of lawn-mower riding men, or you’re a single employee who creates whimsical gardens, finding the right design template for your business card is easy. Have a logo already? Just upload it!
Include important contact information on the front of your business card, and add a calendar or appointment reminder on the back side. Also, try creating a punch card. “Get your lawn mowed ten times and the eleventh is FREE!”
For a consistent and professional touch, design matching lawn signs to leave behind or matching T-shirts or caps for you and your employees to wear.

    VistaPrint Logo Design

    Vistaprint Logo Design

Why do I need to worry about logos?

As a new business owner, you sometimes feel like you’ve walked into some combination of an old west town and an art school. What on earth does branding mean? Why do you need to look to design logos? Before you panic and flee back to the more familiar world of life as an employee, you won’t actually be heating up a branding iron. Branding a business simply means making it recognizable to potential customers. Your logo is a large part of the branding process, since it will be an image that people can recognize quickly and easily.

VistaPrint makes it easy for you to create a logo for your company. You can simply use your free logo design on items you order through Vistaprint or you can opt to pay for the use of the logo so you can use it to brand other items that are related to your business, too. Afraid you cant come up with a design yourself? Dont worry about your lack of graphic design experience. Making your own logo is literally as easy as selecting a few options and clicking the button to continue. The result is a professional looking, simple logo that is easy for people to recognize.
