Show guests you care with custom party invites

    July 18th, 2011

You hate when you receive an email about a party from a friend or family member, and you’re one of a slew of email addresses that received the same message.  You wonder, “Has this person put any thought into this party? Do they even care if I attend, or am I just one of the names in their email contacts?”

Don’t make the same mistake.  Create custom invitations for your summer barbeque, family reunion, graduation party, or anything.  Designing a tangible invitation is a small gesture that goes a long way.  Create invitations and make them extra personal by adding a handwritten note like, “Hope you can make it! I really want to hear about your new job!”  Or, “I’m making your favorite dessert!”

Vistaprint has hundreds of design templates that are quick and simple to customise.  Choose your favorite and make it your own with different fonts, colors, or photos.  Select a matte or glossy finish. Design an understated flat invitation for you cocktail party or something bright and bold for a child’s birthday.

It only takes two minutes to send out an impersonal email.  So show your guests that’s you’re excited to see them by designing fantastic party invitations and adding a handwritten note.  It will not go unnoticed!

Promote your business with marketing postcards

    April 20th, 2011

Full-colour, high-quality postcards are an inexpensive and effective way to market your small business.  One of the first steps to creating a successful marketing postcard is to set a goal.  What do you want to achieve by sending this postcard? Do you want to promote new products? Do you want customers to visit your business at its new location? Once you have a goal in mind, create a message that is direct and simple.  You want your readers to know exactly what to do after receiving your postcard.

Also, be sure to focus your marketing efforts on mailing lists that will pay off.  When targeting consumers, consider where they live, what they do for work, what they do for fun, and whether or not they have children.

Advertise your day care business by mailing to families with school-age children.  Market your landscaping business by mailing to upscale neighborhoods with large homes and yards.

Also, create postcards for inactive customers.  Let them know how excited you are to be of service to them.  Try designing oversized marketing postcards for  special events or to include more information for your customers.

Greeting cards – not just for the holidays

    April 14th, 2011

Didn’t get around to sending out cards for the holidays? No problem! Design a custom greeting card today.  Many people are bombarded with cards in the December, and then go months without hearing from friends and family.  Your loved ones will be thrilled to receive a thoughtful greeting long after the madness of the holiday season, and will appreciate it even more.

Create a card that celebrates spring and welcomes the warm weather.  Design a photo card using those pictures from your family vacation over spring break.  Browse through online galleries to create a custom, flat or folded note card, and add a personal message inside.  Choose a photo or design that suits what is going on in your life or how you’re feeling.

Send greetings to your loved ones to let them know you’re thinking of them or to suggest a get together.  Your friends and family will be pleasantly surprised by this tangible reminder of your affection,  long after the holiday decorations are gone.

You can also create matching envelope seals for a unique touch!

Memorable Stress Free Announcements, As It Should Be

    April 27th, 2010

Spring is back and with it comes the season of christenings, first communions, weddings and other family oriented gatherings. Every person in your family raves about the announcements that so- and-so had prepared for such an occasions, stating that these are so incredible that they have kept them posted on their fridge door. And of course, you feel that you will never be able to live up to such expectations despite all your good will to make everything picture perfect for that special day..

Don’t underestimate yourself. Sit down and take a couple of minutes to think what would make your invitations the talk of the family. OK, you’re no artist but you have an idea of what you like and what you don’t, and what your  family and friends will appreciate. Just upload your own baby’s picture for the christening announcement. Try out several background colours and fonts to see which ones will look the best on paper for the first communion lunch invitation. Imagine the future bride and groom’s names in bold and colorful fonts or make it really traditional and upload pictures of gold wedding bands. The choice is yours. The time you spend on these will be rewarded with compliments! Be creative! Be inspired!

Hold the Date With Wedding Announcements

    September 29th, 2009

How can I send wedding announcements when I don’t have a location in mind?

You’re getting married and you’ve chosen a date, but you aren’t sure of the location. So far, the only place you’ve been able to find that is free on that date is your Aunt Minnie’s local bingo hall and it really isn’t your dream place. You want to hold out for a better location, but you’re afraid all of your friends and family will commit to other events if you don’t send out wedding invitations. Should you just settle for the bingo hall and try to disguise it with a ton of decorations so you can mail off the invitations?Wedding Invitations Invitations & Announcements elegant engagement party

Actually, if you’ve been looking at Vistaprint’s invitation choices, you may have noticed that you can also choose announcements. One of those announcements is a simple “Save the Date” card, which is ideal for a couple that has a date in mind for the wedding, but isn’t sure of the location. When you send out these cards, you still have a chance to have a wedding in a place that doesn’t bring orthopedic shoes and blue hair to mind, but your loved ones will know that you need them to keep the wedding day free while you are hunting for the perfect location.

    New Job Announcement

    May 21st, 2009

Are there any tips for making a new job announcement?

You’ve got your first real job and you want everyone to know. Well, everyone except your Cousin Freddie, who would just want to borrow some money. You’ve decided to use VistaPrint to create announcements about your new job, but now you need a few pointers to help you get started. To make a new job announcement you can be proud of, try these suggestions:

    • 1. Choose announcements that have a similar new beginnings theme. Business announcements and graduation announcements are both easily altered to make an announcement about a new job. Use the advanced editing feature to tweak the layout or change colors to make the design suit your theme and style.
    • 2. Coordinate your announcements to match your business cards and include a business card complete with your new title in the announcement envelopes. This way, doting friends and family members can refer to the card to get the title right when they are bragging to that kid who bullied you in school about how well you are doing.
    • 3. Consider shopping for coordinating letterhead paper, return address labels and other professional stationary needs at the same time. This way, you won’t have to struggle to remember which fonts or colors you used when you need these supplies at a later date.
